Welcome to the official website of the Union Fire Association. Located at 149 Montgomery Ave. in the heart of Bala Cynwyd, Station 28 is home to Engine 28, Ladder 28, and Pipeline 28. For over 115 years our volunteers have served the residents of Lower Merion Township in their times of need.

Covering roughly 3 square miles of Lower Merion Township and over 4,000 Structures, the Union Fire Association (Montgomery County Station 28) provides fire and emergency services to the residents of the Bala Cynwyd and Merion sections of Lower Merion Township. In addition, Station 28 provides fire and life safety education to local preschools, kindergartens, grade schools, and local businesses. Responding to 450 calls per year, ranging from automatic fire alarms, trash/rubbish fires, smoke conditions, carbon monoxide alarms, gas leaks, trees into homes, vehicle accidents, EMS assists, mutual aid, vehicle fires, to residential and commercial building fires. Station 28 has more than 20 dedicated volunteer firefighters, engineer/aerial operators and 6 officers. UFA also employs 3 full-time career firefighters and 6 part-time paid firefighters, who all together comprise the men and women who respond 24/7, 365 days a year to any and all calls for service.
