STATION 28 RESPONDS TO HOUSE FIRE

At 1004PM on Monday night Station 28 was dispatched to the area of Winding Way for a dwelling fire. Montgomery County Dispatch reported they had received multiple calls for a house on fire in that area. The call was immediately upgraded to include Station 22 Belmont Hills Fire Company. Tower 28 and Chief 28 arrived on location to heavy smoke and fire showing bringing automatic mutual aid from the Narberth Fire Company extra manpower and the Gladwyne Fire Company Rapid Intervention Team and Air truck. The source of the fire was located in the basement area and being that the fire had burned through a portion of the floor a fire attack was ininiated through a hole in the floor. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes.
